Ah, greetings.. And how are you today?

“I’m not afraid of it, I’m just used to people criticising me for it,” she chuckled, keeping pace with him, “And my mother raised me to be polite, why wouldn’t I be polite to you, regardless of what you’re rumoured to have done,”He nodded. “I suppose that makes sense. Your manners do you credit. But you would be surprised, some people are much more reluctant to give up a grudge, no matter how you treat them.” He sighed. “Tis.. refreshing.. to find someone who thinks otherwise.”
“Well I would certainly behave differently toward you if you behaved as my in-laws did,” Sigyn replied, “But I see no reason to wrong those who have done no wrong to me directly or to those I love. I understand your point though,” she smiled slightly at him, “it’s difficult to find someone who doesn’t succumb to the temptation to be cruel these days,”
He nodded. “‘Tis crowd mentality. People see an underdog, a victim, and see that no-one will oppose them if they do them harm. Human nature, I suppose.” He returned her smile.
“But, the only thing to do it to move on, I feel.”
“It is hard to say.. I believe this may help…” He moved away, focusing, as the image of Ruby leaned down, her hand on his face, tears in her eyes. “I.. I’m sorry.. I have to leave you..”Loki busied himself over by the worksurface, smirking a little. He turned back, with a needle, which contained a tiny amount of the mistletoe essence he had purified. “Hold still, brother…” He injected it into Baldr’s shoulder, and Ruby’s image rubbed the spot as he moved back.
“I’m sorry, love.. But this cannot continue.. I must leave you…” He focused carefully, manipulating Baldr’s memories of her, using them. He moved forwards, looking at her, alarmed. “Ruby.. my brother did not mean for you to leave.. just for you to be out of harm’s way..”
“Even so… I cannot continue like this.. I am sorry…” She begun to sound teary, and laid a hand on his chest.
“Ruby.. you cannot mean this..” But the image turned and left.
At her touch he relaxed, sinking into the chair with wild, crazed eyes, like those of a terrified stag, seeking only relief from the chaos. But her words cut through the hazy pain his body was engulfed in, and all calm he tried to gain evaporated.
”R… Ruby?” Baldr managed, confusion flooding his face, perfect, sun-kissed skin wrinkling to an honest frown as he tried to understand. She was leaving? But why? What had he done wrong? Had his fate destroyed yet another part of his life?
”N-N-No, please, Ru-” The words were cut off by an unidentifiable cry, pain wrapped in a sound and ripping from his throat. In his arm Baldr could feel the toxin spreading in his blood, burning under his skin and into muscle, into bone. Points of fire flared behind his eyes, borne from whatever had been injected into him. Body as tense as a spring, he flung himself uselessly at the bonds, trying to escape, trying to reach the retreating Ruby, trying to get away from the burning pain.
But it only sought to catch his wrists, rubbing the skin raw as the mistletoe angrily bit into him.
Loki watched his brother’s struggles, eyeing the bolts that held the chair into the floor. He laid a hand on Baldr’s head, comforting.
“Sssh, brother, you must calm yourself..” The image paused at the door, looking back at Baldr with tears in her eyes.
I am sorry.. But I could never love one such as you. I know what you will do..
She left, shutting the door behind her. Loki sighed, subtly taking Baldr’s pulse as he was distracted. He had been pleasantly surprised at how well it had all worked.. His brothers weakness was much more potent than he had ever hoped..
The mortal performed adequately.. I suppose. Since then, however, misfortune has befallen me - due to my own carelessness, my lab, my home, was burned to the ground. I.. lost everything, all my research.
No matter. I have returned.

My new lab will soon be complete. And then.. what fun we shall have.

Once again, I have been reclusive.. My “Mun” is studying for examinations in her chosen field of work. I am a firm believer in the power of knowledge, and so I have consented to help her with her work, dull though it may be for one such as me.
I will therefore not be here much - you may interact with me via what I am told is an “Ask box”, as she finds this easier to monitor. However, I do not tolerate half-done work, so I will be ensuring that she finishes that before she is permitted to revisit this realm.
I do hope you will not miss me too much…
-shakes his head- Think nothing of it. Just because one apologizes for his crimes does not mean he did not commit them, hm?
I regret what I did now.. And I am still in awe of the fact that she still claims to.. have feelings for me, despite what I did.
I apologise. It seems that is all I do… Leave if you wish..
I was curious.. She is a mutant girl with a remarkable ability to heal.. I was testing her limits.. and twas the easiest way to combine my Jotun DNA with hers…
-looks at her- …The child, I am.. now ashamed to say.. was born of.. a less than consensual encounter. ‘Twas an experiment.
